The "Robert Scureman’s Portfolio" website project was developed as part of the Google UX Design course available on YouTube. While the course itself is paid, the video content is accessible free of charge for those interested. I elected to follow along with the course videos to deepen my understanding of user experience principles that underpin modern design practices.

The primary objective of this project was to create a website grounded in user-centric design principles that offers intuitive navigation and is easy to consume. The information structure was designed for accessibility and clarity, showcasing various projects to demonstrate my capabilities as a developer. The site aims to be straightforward to navigate, with easily readable content and a curated selection of projects reflecting my diverse skill set. For this particular project, I deliberately limited the number of displayed projects to three examples, highlighting specific areas of interest.

As someone with ADHD, I often find it challenging to focus on a single project for extended periods, resulting in multiple ongoing projects that evolve over time. I initially expected to dedicate focused effort over several days before moving on, but the complex nature of website development—especially working with underlying code for images, buttons, and links—provides continual opportunities for learning and engagement. This ongoing growth helps maintain my interest and enthusiasm.

My approach to this project was consistent with my typical process: I quickly engaged with Wix, immersing myself in a web design crash course. Despite certain guidance from the UX course, I prioritized attention to detail in website design, emphasizing intuitive navigation. While I used a template as a foundation, I customized the color schemes, images, and layout to better align with my conceptual vision for the site.

I am proud of the outcome and the effort I invested in customizing every aspect of the website. Although I started with a template, I believe that leveraging existing frameworks can lead to excellent results. I personally handled all elements, from selecting the initial template to choosing the color palette and designing individual buttons. This process has expanded my understanding of web development, and I look forward to further refining and evolving the site in the future.

If any issues arise with the website, the responsibility lies solely with me. I am a one-person team—responsible for every aspect from conception to implementation—and I am committed to continued learning and improvement.
